Thrilled to announce that our very own Luke Ballie has been recognised by Valero’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)!
In April, during a sour water stripper project, Luke recognised that BA requirements were wrong on the permit. The initial permit didn’t require full BA (Breathing Apparatus) safety gear, which could have exposed workers to harmful leaks. Recognising this risk, Luke proactively initiated a permit change to a BA trailer permit. This ensured the team had the necessary protection to work safely and efficiently.
The VPP honors workplaces like ours that demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety and health. We’re proud of Luke’s contributions to fostering a work environment that prioritises well-being and keeps injury and illness rates low.
