MILFORD HAVEN BANDSTAND REMOVAL

This project involved the removal of the old Seal Sanctuary and bandstand bases to make way for a
new car park. We also took the opportunity to upgrade the pathway by installing new cabling and
ducting, preparing the area for future fiber optic connectivity.

Key deliverables included:

  • Secured the job site with fencing and signage to restrict public access.
  • Protected existing underground cables and fiber optic lines by hand-digging around them.
  • Conducted a CAT scan to identify and avoid any buried utilities.
  • Cleared the area by removing vegetation and breaking up concrete, stockpiling the debris on-site for later disposal.
  • Transported and disposed of all excavated materials off-site.
  • Performed R1 reinstatement: Laid 150mm of Type 1 stone (increased from the original 75mm following on-site discussions) over weed suppressant, compacted the area, and ensured a tidy finish.
  • Reinstated the pedestrian path using existing removed block pavers, including resetting the front edge curbs.
  • Performed R1 reinstatement: Removed brick paving, excavated a trench, installed two 50m ducts (including dusting and taping), backfilled the trench with sub-base, compacted the area, and relayed the brick paving and tarmac
